World Insurance History:
 WORLD WAS FOUNDED in 1903 in Omaha, Nebraska, as the World Accident Association. The company began hiring agents in 1925 and became World Insurance Company in 1929. The first general agency was established in Colorado in 1938. In 1943, World mutualized and was authorized to sell life insurance as well as accident and sickness policies.
By the late 1950s, World was licensed in 45 states with 500 agents nationwide. The company's product portfolio included a wide variety of individual hospital, life and disability policies.
Large, career general agencies fueled World's growth throughout the 1960s and '70s. In 1982, the company adopted a brokerage distribution system, and by the end of the decade had more than 5,000 agents. Introduction of an ultra-competitive line of comprehensive major medical products also led to explosive sales increases during that decade.
Diversification has characterized the 1990s for World. The company has expanded its life portfolio to include new term products, whole life, final expense whole life and an annuity product. In 1997, MidAmerica Mutual Life Insurance Company of Minnesota merged into World. The merger contributed not only to record financial growth, but also to increases in staff and services.
Today, World is licensed in 46 states and the District of Columbia. More than 9,000 general agents and agents represent the company.

Just this decade, World has more than quadrupled surplus, improving the fund that provides extra financial security for policyowners and propels the company's financial success. In 1999, surplus increased by $5 million to more than $50 million. Assets have increased more than 50 percent since 1990, reflecting an overall increase in World's size and the company's ability to weather change in the future.
Throughout its history, World also has maintained one of the strongest investment portfolios in the industry. World invests primarily in highly rated securities and bonds, concentrating mostly on extremely safe, government-backed placements.
During 1999, World continued its tradition of solid financial direction by managing a portfolio comprised almost entirely of investment-grade placements. In fact, more than 97 percent of World's investments are considered investment-grade (rated Baa3 or higher), and the weighted average of World's portfolio is Aa.

Dental for Quote
Available through Health of America Insurance Agency in the States of TX and WI.
 World offers two Dental insurance plans, each providing preventive, basic, and major dental coverage, with optional orthodontia coverage available on the under-65 plan.
Choice Dental is for individuals and families under age 65. Exams and cleanings are covered immediately, with other services covered after a waiting period (also available is optional orthodontia coverage).
Senior Choice Dental is for individuals 65 and over, and their spouse at any age. Again, exams and cleanings are covered immediately, and other services after a waiting period.
Both plans offer: Immediate coverage of preventive care. Same coverage at any dentist nationwide. No medical underwriting - anyone meeting the age-eligibility parameters can purchase World's dental insurance.
